Theria, the group of mammals that give live birth, is split between Metatheria and Eutheria. Metatheria is the group of mammals known as marsupials and the orders of marsupials are the focus of this page. Marsupials give birth when the offspring is barely developed and it goes on to further develop in a pouch the mother has.
