The evidence for evolution found in DNA and other molecules may be the strongest evidence of all. It has been directly observed that changes occur in the DNA of all organisms; this is the main cause of variation among organisms. The amount of variation in the DNA between different organisms is highly correlated to the amount of time that has passed since they shared a common ancestor.
