This page shows Neoteleostei's splits and focuses on the orders isolated by those splits. The first split is between Stenopterygii and Eurypterygii. Stenopterygii has two orders: Ateleopodiformes and Stomiiformes. Eurypterygii splits into the order Aulopiformes and Ctenosquamata. Ctenosquamata is further split between the order Myctophiformes and Acanthomorpha. Acanthomorpha will be explored on the following pages.

  • Neoteleostei
    • Ateleopodia
      • Ateleopodiformes - Jellynose Fishes
    • Eurypterygia
      • Aulopa
        • Aulopiformes - Greeneyes, etc.
      • Ctenosquamata
        • Myctophata
          • Myctophiformes - Lanternfishes, etc.
        • Acanthomorphata (following pages)
