Okefenokee Swamp

The Okefenokee Swamp is a major wetland area supporting the Oak/Gum/Cypress forest type (predominantly cypress). The surrounding area supports the Longleaf/Slash Pine forest type. This is one of three types of wetlands, along with the Everglades (coastal wetland) and Cheyenne Bottoms (interior wetland). This is an example of a wooded wetland.
