Chesapeake Bay

Estuaries are unique locations where fresh water and salty ocean water mix. Organisms living in these environments must be able to handle osmosis working in both directions. Oysters, other mollusks and crustaceans can be experienced here. Oysters play an important role in filtering the estuary's water.
