This is the subclass of Horsetails. As of 2024, 16 species of Equisetidae have been observed in iNaturalist in the US and 29 throughout the world. - Field Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) - most iNat observations in the US for Equisetidae - 8 (Lake Michigan shore), 2 (Great Smoky Mountains NP)

This is the subclass of Potato Ferns and Allies. As of 2024, 2 species of Marattiidae have been observed in iNaturalist in the US, only one of which is native, and 45 throughout the world. - Hawaii Potato Fern (Marattia douglasii) - most native iNat observations in the US for Marattiidae - 12 (Hawaii)
- Giant Fern (Angiopteris sp.) - Climatron at MOBOT - NOAH
This is the subclass of Adder's-Tongues, Fork Ferns and Allies.
