As if it came straight off the moon, the Barringer meteor crater is clear evidence of how things in space can affect living things here on earth. It seems obvious that a meteor created this crater as it impacted earth. Other impacts have happened before and others could happen again. In fact, this is not the only meteor crater at the present time, it is just the most well-preserved. A much larger impact 65 million years ago or so is thought to have resulted in a large number of species, namely the dinosaurs, becoming extinct.
